OCEAN BEACH SURF AND SKATE AND LOCAL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS PRESENT BEATS BY THE BEACH FUNDRAISER

a family fun Festival, raising funds for the ymca youth and family services

Join Ocean Beach Surf and Skate on Saturday, March 5, 2011 for the first ever, Beats by the Beach Fundraiser! This philanthropic festival will run from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and will help raise funds for the YMCA Youth and Family Services (YFS), a non-profit, social service and program provider whose cause is strengthening the community.

This fundraising event will be held in the parking lot adjacent to Ocean Beach Surf and Skate and will feature live musical performances by local bands including Habitat, Tommy Dubs, The New Kenetics and Rightjahs Blend; a street-course skate contest; and fresh-off-the-grill burgers donated entirely from Hodad’s. The event will also feature an art show, showcasing donated artwork from local artists, students, photographers and skateboarders that will be available for purchase in a silent auction. Additionally, there will be a raffle, featuring gifts from local businesses and event sponsors, a face painting booth, an Indo Board interactive booth with surf simulator, yoga and muay tai workshops, and a pro/am skateboarder’s meet and greet staring Tosh Townend and Cano Cardenas with more surprise guests to come! Lastly, the Young At Art Children’s Creative Center in Ocean Beach will be donating their time to organize the event’s mural that will consist of sponsored, decorated art created during the festival.  After the event, the art will be organized to form the mural, framed and then displayed inside Ocean Beach Surf & Skate.
