Join Ocean Beach Surf and Skate and watch surf classics revisit the silver screen at this month’s movie night at The Pearl Hotel. Surf classic’s on the Silver Screen will be held next Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will feature the one and only: Five Summer Stories.
Held on the Last Tuesday, every month, Surf on the Silver Screen features the latest surf films, killer food and drink specials including a gourmet burger and beer combo and $3 premier draft beers, as well as a raffle prizes from Ocean Beach Surf and Skate, Ocean Experience Surf School, The Pearl Hotel and other event sponsors.
Dust off your retro Hawaiian shirts and kick back pool side at The Pearl Hotel as we journey back to the 70’s, groove to Honk and witness one of the few, truly classic surf films: Five Summer Stories. Directed by Greg MacGillivray and Jim Freeman, Five Summer Stories is known as a cultural icon, featuring surfing’s most inspiriting legends including David Nuuhiwa, Eddie Aikau, Gerry Lopez and Sam Hawk. By capturing the emerging era of the sport and culture and founding the launch of second generation surf films, Five Summer Stories a surfing time capsule.
Witness history and join us for this unforgettable adventure on the silver screen and under stars on The Pearl’s outdoor patio, Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Admission to this event is FREE and open to the public. The screening of Five Summer Stories will begin at 8:00 p.m. with the raffle followed immediately after.
