6th Annual OBSS Skate Jam at the OB Street Fair

That’s right: it’s finally time for Ocean Beach Surf and Skate’s 6th Annual Skate Jam at the Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off! Previously held on Cable Street between Newport Avenue and Santa Monica, this year the Skate Jam will be held in parking lot of Ocean Beach Surf and Skate’s new shop, located in the heart of the street fair at 4976 Newport Avenue. This years Skate Jam will also feature our all new 3ft Mini Ramp as well as an awesome street course, a DJ spinning killer beats, great prizes and tons of free swag. Open skate sessions will run before and after the skate contest which will kick off at 1:00 pm. Following the jam will be a live demo from some of the industries hottest skateboarders, as well as an awards ceremony for contest winners and contestants. The 6th Annual OB Street Fair Skate Jam is FREE and open to all ages and abilities. Entry forms are available at Ocean Beach Surf and Skate. Helmets are required for all participants under 18 years old.

•  10:00 am – 12 noon: Open Skate
• 12 noon – 1:00 pm: Practice
• 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Skate Contest
• 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Live Demo
• 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Open Skate

Surf Movie Night featuring Volcom Stone's BS!

What better way to spend a Tuesday night then with at The Pearl Hotel for Surf on the Silver Screen movie nights hosted by Ocean Beach Surf and Skate! The evening kicks off on the last Tuesday of each month from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. and features the latest surf flicks projected on a huge outdoor screen. Movie goers will also enjoy free raffles and amazing burger and beer combo specials.

Created by Ryan Thomas (of The Bruce Movie), BS! uniquely and humorously documents the extraordinary ripping of surfers Dusty Payne, Mitch Coleborn, Alex Gray, Ozzie Wright, Nate Tyler, and Andrew Doheny, as they travel through Austrailia, Indo, California, Hawaii, Tahiti and Chili.

Ocean Beach News: Oktoberfest Takes Over OB!

From brats and beers to bands and contests... this Ocean Beach fall tradition also known as the OB Oktoberfest is going to be one amazing festival you will NOT want to miss! Located at the in Ocean Beach Pier parking lot on October 10, 2009, the German inspired beer fest kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with the infamous Brat Trot. Other contests include the "world famous" sausage toss, a stein holding contest and the bratwurst eating contest, all with over $10,000 in cash and prizes! That's not all though... on top of all that fun will be amazing German-inspired food and music galore! Featuring two stages, the OB Oktoberfest line-up includes Way Cool Jr, Geezer, 40 Oz to Freedom, Bavarian Beer Garden Band, South Town Generals and The Styletones on the Karl Strauss Beer Garden Stage and the Bavarian Beer Garden Band and Lobster Bob on the Seaside Stage. Last, but definitely not least, enjoy your day of fun responsibly and save gas by taking the FREE shuttle bus to and from Pacific Beach. Pick-up and drop-off  will be located at 710 Beach Club on 710 Garnet Ave, Pacific Beach and rides will run every 30 minutes from 12:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., when the festival ends.
